15th GW Ethics in Publishing Conference

October 9-10, 2025 (hybrid format)

The 15th GW Ethics in Publishing Conference will be held as a hybrid event on Thursday, October 9, 2025, with a possible second half day on Friday, October 10th. Again it will be a hybrid event: we will have in-person and virtual presentations and attendees, at the George Washington University Arlington Education Center, in Arlington, VA (Washington, DC metro area) and online.

Publishing, library, and scholarly communications professionals, scholars, faculty, and students are invited to present on topics encompassing challenges facing peer review; publishing equity; impact of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility efforts; Artificial Intelligence (AI) and research integrity; multilingualism; accessibility; inclusive practices in language editing and design; representation on editorial boards; measuring success and publishing impact; community-centered peer review practices; and more.

The annual GW Ethics in Publishing Conference engages students, professionals, and researchers in scholarly publishing, library science, and scholarly communications to explore research and promote action on ethical issues in publishing. The 14th Ethics in Publishing Conference, held in a hybrid format on October 10-11, 2024, attracted approximately 100 in-person and 500 virtual attendees, and featured 42 publishing and library professionals and students in 22 sessions. Ten GW publishing students and alumni presented alongside publishing professionals from the United States, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.
